Get ready for London 2012
Sports clubs around the district will be able to recruit extra coaches or receive extra funding to help them cope with an expected surge in sporting interest as the 2012 Olympic Games approach.
East Hampshire District Council’s Sports Development Team aims to develop a support network to help local clubs embrace the extra interest in sport as excitement builds towards the games.
The support network will provide volunteering, coaching and leadership roles and the latest information on funding opportunities and much-needed coach education courses. To do this the council needs up-to-date contact information to keep its ever-changing database accurate.
All sports clubs – junior or senior, large or small - should make sure they forward their contact details so they can be sent the latest funding schemes and opportunities.

Kirsty Cope, EHDC Community Project Worker, said: “We recognise that the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games will provide an inspiration and a focal point for the development of sport across the district in the coming years. We also recognise that participation in sport through local clubs will grow as the excitement for the Olympic Games builds. We can only pass on exciting opportunities and information to your club if we have your up-to-date contact details.”
Clubs should email their details to sports.data@easthants.gov.uk or contact Kirsty Cope or Jude Simpson on 01730 234396.
