Chairobics comes to Headley

A new Chairobics class has been set up in the Headley area to help local people keep fit and stay active. East Hampshire District Council has given a grant of £993 towards the Chairobics sessions that are now running at Farthing Fields Sheltered Housing, Headley.
The classes, also part funded by Drum Housing Association, are professionally run and are available for both residents and non residents.
Chairobics provides seated exercise in a fun, enjoyable and sociable way to increase physical activity levels.
EHDC Cllr Yvonne Parker Smith, chairman of the Community Forum for the Headley area, said: “With the health and wellbeing agenda very much to the fore I think Chairobics is an excellent way of achieving more mobility and independence. It’s also an excellent opportunity for people to be sociable and meet with other people in the same circumstances.
“Chairobics gets your circulation going, makes your muscles stronger and prevents falls and it’s very helpful in keeping both body and mind active.”
