Swimmers splash out on new PA

Swimmers splash out on new PA

Alton and District Swimming Club has splashed out on a new public address system partly funded by East Hampshire District Council.

David Harris, Treasurer of the club, is delighted with the new sound system. He said: "The pa will make a huge difference to events like this where you need to communicate clearly. We also have a legal obligation to make health and safety announcements if necessary."

Alton and District Swimming Club is very popular locally and has 400 swimming members.

Cllr Allan Chick, Mayor of Alton, who is also an EHDC councillor, visited the club and addressed the swimmers at an Inter Centre Gala, with competitors from all over the district.
